Dr. Volker Roth received his M.Sc. (Dipl.-Inform.) in Computer Science in 1995 and his Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Computer Science in 2001 from the Technical University in Darmstadt.
Since 1995 he has worked for the department Security Technology for Graphics and Communication Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics (IGD) in Darmstadt, Germany.
Dr. Roth organized several workshops and conference sessions, and published several scientific papers in journals, collections, and conference proceedings. He is also a frequent reviewer of journal and conference submissions, and served on the programme committees of several international conferences and workshops. He is also the principal scientist of the Secure Mobile Agents (SeMoA) project at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics.
His primary research interests are applied cryptography, cryptographic protocols, distributed system security, mobile code, and the usability of security.
